RESEARCHERS: Join this data challenge to study the role of food in health and medicine
The American Heart Association is inviting scientific researchers to compete in a new data challenge to study the role of food in health and medicine.
Win $20,000 using the American Heart Association’s Precision Medicine Platform to access data from the first 500 foods in the Periodic Table of Food Initiative database. Details about the data challenge can be found at https://precision.heart.org/ptfidatachallenge.
The foods in the database have undergone extensive molecular analysis, identifying thousands of components in each food that are related to human health and agriculture practices. New research from this data will help scientists, policymakers, and food and health professionals better understand the roles that food and the environment play in health and medicine.
There is no cost to enter the data challenge. Submissions are due by November 1, 2024. Finalists have the option to submit an abstract and/or present their research at one of the Association’s national conferences or another conference of their choice.
